PRESS RELEASE

Argiano winery in Montalcino, hosts the first edition of the international music festival “Argiano Baroque Music Festival”

From August 20th to September 17th five great Baroque music concerts in the spectacular location of Argiano in Montalcino (calendar attached).

Renowned international ensembles come together to offer a journey through the various styles and repertoires of great Baroque music, the subject of a rediscovery by the general public in this period.

The concerts will be held in the evocative courtyard of the sixteenth-century villa in Argiano, with perfect acoustics and in an intimate atmosphere with a maximum number of one hundred guests.

Before the concerts Argiano will offer a tasting of its wines and the independent house Thiénot will offer a flute of Champagne.

On the Festival website www.argianomusicfestival.com you can find all the details to book tickets to the concerts in addition to guided visits of the historic cellars which have been recently restored.

“We thought of a concert series that would allow you to rediscover the taste for great Baroque music heard in an ideal context: that of the villa of Argiano,” comments the artistic director Maestro Antonio Artese. "The Baroque in music is known for its aesthetics and for wanting to amaze the listener. The festival intends to retrace this tradition by offering the public five enchanting evenings with refined programs, with the opportunity to enjoy an aperitif with excellent wines and spend a few hours immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the Brunello countryside. It is our intention to ensure that this festival becomes an international reference point in this area dedicated to wine but also to art and, as its history attests, to music”.

For the concerts on 20 August, 3 September and 17 September the Festival offers a select number of guests the opportunity to reserve an exclusive dinner with the artists catered by a Michelin-starred chef. On August 20th the menu entitled Alchimie che nutrono l’anima will be presented by chef Filippo Saporito of “La Leggenda dei Frati” in Florence. For the concert on September 3rd the chef Roberto Rossi of the restaurant "Il Silene" in Seggiano will prepare the menu L’arte applicata della cucina. The festival concludes on September 17th with chef Bruno de Moura Cossio of “La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini” at the resort l’Andana in Castiglione della Pescaia with the menu entitled l’Armonia che riflette le meraviglie della terra.

Bernardino Sani, CEO Argiano: “Argiano has embraced the artistic proposal of this festival which combines musical excellence with the extraordinary tradition of Brunello di Montalcino. We have focused on excellence, offering the public the opportunity not only to listen to concerts of the highest level, but to have an unforgettable experience. It will be possible to visit the historic cellars of the completely restored villa Bell’Aria at Argiano, have a tailor-made tasting experience, and stay for dinner with the artists after the concert, enjoying the culinary creations of three Michelin-starred chefs."

All of the concerts, aperitivo, tours and tastings will be held with respect for the anti-Covid19 protocols.

Note: In the case of rain or bad weather the concerts will be held indoors on the premises.
